Heartlands Business Gifts Ltd T/A The Workwear Lab takes health and safety issues seriously and is committed to protecting the health, safety and welfare of its staff and all those affected by its business activities and those attending its premises.
Heartlands Business Gifts Ltd T/A The Workwear Lab is responsible for committing to the requirements set out in the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. They will take reasonable steps to identify and safeguard the health and safety of its employees by providing safe working areas, equipment, systems and where necessary supply appropriate protective clothing.
The employer also recognises its duty to protect the health and safety of visitors to its premises which include any contract workers and members of the public.
Heartlands Business Gifts Ltd T/A The Workwear Lab is aware that achieving a healthy and safe workplace is a collective task shared between the employer and staff. The policy also applies to any contractors, casual and agency staff. All staff / contractors must take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others. They must co-operate with the Principal Health and Safety Officer and report any health and safety concerns immediately. If they are unsure how to perform a job or feel anything is dangerous they must report it. Staff also must agree to keep the workplace tidy and hazard free.
On the employers part they will identify risks and find ways to manage or overcome them. They will also provide adequate information, instruction, training and supervision to enable all staff to do their work safely, to avoid hazards and to contribute positively to their own health and safety at work. They will also provide a safe place of work with safe entry and exit requirements. They will provide safe arrangements for the use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances.
Heartlands Business Gifts Ltd T/A The Workwear Lab promote effective communication and consultation between themselves and staff concerning health and safety matters.
All staff must promptly report any accident at work involving personal injury however trivial to the Principal Health and Safety Officer and ensure the accident book is filled out.
The employer will ensure that the Health and Safety policy is reviewed and updated when necessary.
